About LemmeCook

LemmeCook is a place to write up, organize, and share your recipes, with a few tools to make cooking and meal planning easier along the way.

Recipe basics

Write up a recipe with ingredients, step-by-step instructions, photos (click any photo to see it full-size), tags, and optional nutrition info (yield, calories, protein, carbs, fat).

AI-powered import

Import a recipe by uploading a photo of a handwritten card, a PDF, pasting text from anywhere, or a source URL. Claude reads it and fills in the form for you. Subscribers can also hit "Calculate nutrition" on any recipe form to have Claude estimate yield and calories/protein/carbs/fat straight from the ingredient list, no matter how the recipe was entered. These are AI estimates, not lab-tested figures, and are labeled as such wherever they show up.

Recipe forking

Copy an existing recipe to make it your own, with a link back to the original recipe so you can see how it differs.

LemmeCook mode

A distraction-free, one-step-at-a-time view with ingredient scaling, built-in timers for steps with a cook time, a screen wake lock so your display doesn't sleep mid-recipe, and hands-free voice control to move between steps, start a timer, or have a step read aloud.

Scaling & unit conversion

Instantly scale a recipe's ingredient quantities up or down (0.5x, 2x, or a custom multiplier) without editing the recipe itself, and toggle ingredients between their original units, US customary, or Metric. Conversions that cross between volume and weight (like cups to grams) are approximate and clearly marked, since they depend on an ingredient's density.

Cookbooks & meal planning

Organize recipes into cookbooks, drag to reorder them (with swipe-to-remove and an undo), schedule them across a Meal Week with drag-and-drop (including moving a recipe from one day to another), and bulk-add a Meal Week's recipes to a grocery list in one click. Choose whether your Meal Week starts on Sunday or Monday in Settings.

Pantry mode

List the ingredients you have on hand and see which recipes you can make right now, plus close matches showing exactly what you're missing. Pool your pantry with a household: invite people you live with so everyone's items count toward what you can make together.

Dinner Polls

Propose a poll of recipes for a night, and let everyone in your household vote. One vote each, changeable until the poll's creator closes it, and a clear winner can be auto-scheduled straight onto your Meal Week.

Meal Weeks

Plan out a week of meals with drag-and-drop, and add all the ingredients to a grocery list in one click. See day-by-day totals for calories, protein, carbs, and fat, and optionally include a recipe's nutrition info in the grocery list.

Grocery lists

Build a shopping list from one or more recipes, with duplicate ingredients automatically combined (even across different but compatible units, so 2 tbsp and 1/4 cup of the same ingredient merge into one line), plus manually-added items. Anything you've already got in your pantry is called out separately, so you're not shopping for things you already have.

Subscription

Grocery lists, pantry mode, Meal Weeks, Dinner Polls, and AI import are subscriber features. Subscribe for $5/month right from Settings, and manage or cancel anytime from the same page.

Search & discovery

Search recipes by title, tag, or ingredient in one box, browse every tag in use, browse public cookbooks from other users, and see recipes similar to the one you're viewing. Not interested in a recipe? Hide it from your own browse, search, and similar-recipes results with one click, with an undo right after.

Sharing & visibility

Recipes, cookbooks, and Meal Weeks can be public or private, with shareable links; public profile pages show a user's public recipes and cookbooks. Set your own default visibility for new recipes and cookbooks, edit your display name, and upload a custom avatar (or keep your Google account picture) in Settings.

Community

Rate and comment on recipes, fork someone else's recipe to make your own version, follow other users from their profile or any of their recipes, and get notified when someone comments on, rates, forks, or follows you, with per-event controls in Settings if you'd rather not hear about all four. If someone's not for you, block them for a full two-way wall (no more seeing or contacting each other) or quietly mute them to stop seeing their recipes and activity without them ever knowing — both from their profile page, with a Settings page to review and undo any block, mute, or hidden recipe.

Direct messages

Send another user a private message from their profile page, with its own inbox and unread-count icon separate from your recipe-activity notifications. You can restrict messages to only people you follow in Settings, and report an abusive message for review.

Personal notes

Keep a private note on any recipe: only you can see it, not even the recipe's owner.

Export

Download any recipe, or an entire cookbook, as a PDF.

Themes

Switch between light, dark, or auto to match your system, and pick a color theme (Warm, Ocean, Forest, Berry, or Slate) in Settings.
