- 1 can biscuits
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper (?)
- 7 slice american cheese
Steps
- Heat oven to 400 F and grease 9 in. pie pan with shortening.
- Press half of the biscuits in bottom and up the side of the pan to form a crust. Set aside remaining biscuits.
- Cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is cooked thoroughly; drain.
- Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook covered until bubbly.
- Put 1 layer of the ground beef mixture over the crust.
- Arrange cheese slices on top of beef mixture.
- Put another layer of the ground beef mixture, then another layer of cheese.
- Use the remaining biscuits to make the top crust.
- Bake 15-17 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
