  1. Heat oven to 400 F and grease 9 in. pie pan with shortening.
  2. Press half of the biscuits in bottom and up the side of the pan to form a crust. Set aside remaining biscuits.
  3. Cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is cooked thoroughly; drain.
  4. Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook covered until bubbly.
  5. Put 1 layer of the ground beef mixture over the crust.
  6. Arrange cheese slices on top of beef mixture.
  7. Put another layer of the ground beef mixture, then another layer of cheese.
  8. Use the remaining biscuits to make the top crust.
  9. Bake 15-17 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
